McKenzie Ingram

McKenzie Ingram joined NVBA in December 2024 as Volunteer Coordinator. She manages various volunteer opportunities and is the main point of contact for any questions or concerns volunteers may have.

Prior to NVBA, she worked for Anacostia Riverkeeper as the Volunteer and Outreach Coordinator. She managed numerous volunteer-based programs including volunteer trash cleanups, educational boat tours and Friday night fishing. She also developed and disseminated virtual event flyers, program information, and educational materials to an audience of 18,000+ constituents across social media and newsletter platforms. She worked with DC Bird Alliance by managing monthly birding boat tours and Wingspan game nights.

In spring 2024, McKenzie graduated with a Master's in Environmental Science from American University. In 2024, she served on a student committee of environmental advocates for the Rachel Carson Council on Environmental Advocacy Day, where students from across the country met in DC to urge policymakers to support bills to benefit the environment.

Born and raised in Texas, McKenzie has always been an outdoor enthusiast but only began birding in college and has many “lifers” she wants to add to her list. Since moving to Virginia, she has enjoyed exploring birding hotspots with her friends and visiting Shenandoah.
