We are pleased to announce the winner of our Monday Nature Mystery, Tess Bertonneau Winters!

Tess correctly identified a March fly (Bibio femoratus). Another common name is lovebug. There are 32 species in this genus in North America. Three of the species occur in the fall and the flight time for the others occur in the spring.
