We are pleased to announce the winner of our Monday Nature Mystery from December 21, 2020; the aptly named, Karen Brandt!
Congratulations to Karen for correctly identifying both Canada Goose (Branta canadensis) and Barnacle Goose (Branta leucopsis). The Barnacle Goose is a rare treat for our area. Smaller than the familiar Canada Goose, it nests on Arctic coasts and usually overwinters in northwestern Europe. To see more photos click here.
