We are pleased to announce the winner of our July 12 Monday Nature Mystery, Michael Sheeler!

Congratulations to Michael for correctly identifying the uncommon Green Milkweed (Asclepias viridiflora). This milkweed species blooms June through September and prefers full sun and dry soil. It is widely distributed across North America, but is considered endangered and threatened in some areas. “Viridiflora” literally translates to “green-flowered.”
