Birds, wildlife, plants, and trees can’t speak for themselves, so we need to do it for them. If we don’t, our world will continue to deteriorate as habitat is destroyed for new development, invasive species take over our neighborhoods, pollution kills wildlife, and our parks deteriorate from a lack of funding.
You can learn how to advocate on behalf of our environment by attending a free Advocacy Forum at the National Wildlife Federation building, 11100 Wildlife Center Drive in Reston, from 1 to 4:30 PM on Saturday, October 21. It is co-sponsored by ASNV, Loudoun Wildlife Conservancy and Faith Alliance for Climate Solutions. Speakers include Ken Plum, member of the Virginia House of Delegates; Chris Miller, Executive Director of the Piedmont Environmental Council; Michal Myers, Executive Director of Loudoun Wildlife Conservancy; and Mary Rafferty, Executive Director of Virginia Conservation Network. You can read the agenda here. The event is free, but please register here so we know how many people will attend.
