ASNV will hold its annual Winter Waterfowl Count over the weekend of February 5 and 6. Teams will survey areas along the Virginia side of the Potomac River from Algonkian Regional Park in Loudoun County to Quantico Marine Base in Prince William County as well as a variety of inland ponds and lakes. Each team will have a leader who will determine meeting places and start times. Register for this event and state whether you are available for Saturday only, Sunday only, or both days.  It would be helpful to know your skill level (novice, intermediate, or expert) as we assign less skilled birders with experienced ones. This can be a cold, but fun event, so listen to the weather forecast, dress appropriately, and bring binoculars and scopes if you have them. Larry Cartwright and Elizabeth Krone are the compilers.
